CM Rekha Gupta inaugurated ultra-modern mammography unit for cancer testing at Dharamshila Narayana Hospital

New Delhi: Dharmashila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, a pioneer in cancer treatment, today organised a special programme on ‘Cancer Survivors Month’. During this, the chief guest of the programme, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, inaugurated the mammography unit in the hospital. Mammography is used for breast cancer testing, for which the hospital has installed the most advanced and excellent machine. Praising the hospital management, the Chief Minister said that this new effort will help women suffering from breast cancer a lot. The CM expressed happiness that the hospital is observing this month as Cancer Survival Month, in which the target of testing ten thousand people has been set.

The Chief Minister said that a lot of work remains to be done in the field of health in Delhi. Currently, the Delhi government has 38 hospitals, which is 24 percent of the entire health infrastructure. The Delhi government invites Dharmashila Hospital and other private hospitals to join us and provide better treatment to all Delhiites on the PPP model. He informed that the Delhi government has also implemented the Ayushman Yojana, under which treatment up to Rs 10 lakh is free. Dharmshila Hospital has also complied with this scheme, which will greatly benefit cancer patients. The hospital is providing the facility of 5000 free mammography and 5000 free Pap smear tests.

Dr Emmanuel Rupert, Managing Director and Group CEO, Narayana Health, said, “Improving health outcomes for women requires timely, quality and accessible screening and treatment. The new mammography unit and the free women’s health checkup programme – both bring advanced technology to the community. This will enable early detection of cancer, and patients will get timely help. He said that the purpose of celebrating this month as Cancer Survival Month is to spread awareness among people about testing and cancer.

Many dignitaries were present at the programme, including all the doctors of Dharmshila Narayana Hospital, Trilokpuri MLA Ravikant, Patparganj MLA Ravindra Negi, and Councillor Renu Chaudhary.
