Sawan Somvar 2025: Devotees Throng Shiva Temples on Fourth Monday to Seek Blessings

Sawan Somvar 2025 is witnessing an extraordinary blend of devotion and enthusiasm as the holy month of Sawan enters its final phase. The fervor among devotees remains unwavering. On the occasion of the last Monday of Sawan, large numbers of Shiva devotees gathered at prominent temples like Baba Belkhar Nath Dham, Ghuisarnath Dham, and Haudeshwar Dham to offer Ganga Jal to Lord Shiva.

Preparations began a day earlier, with devotees fetching Ganga Jal on Sunday and making their way towards the temples. The inflow of devotees continued till late evening. After resting near the temple premises at night, the ritual of Jalabhishek (offering water) started early Monday morning.

Shiva Temples Resonate with ‘Bam Bam Bhole’ Chants

The entire atmosphere around the temples is charged with chants of ‘Bam Bam Bhole’ and ‘Har Har Mahadev’. Several groups of Kanwariyas (devotees carrying holy water) are also undertaking Kanwar Yatras to these sacred sites. After performing Jalabhishek, devotees circumambulate the sanctum sanctorum, praying for their family’s happiness, prosperity, and good health.

Amidst the gentle drizzling rains, the scene mirrors a shower of faith as well. Apart from the Kanwariyas, other devotees are also seen offering water to Lord Shiva, praying for relief from life’s difficulties and seeking divine blessings.

Heavy Security Deployment Amid Large Gatherings

Given the massive turnout on Sawan Somvar 2025, the police have been on high alert. Special attention is being given to traffic management, parking arrangements, and crowd control to ensure smooth movement. Security personnel are keeping a close watch on suspicious individuals to prevent any disruptions amidst the devotional gathering.

Police patrols are active around the resting spots of the Kanwariyas, with special vigilance over groups that include women devotees. The Anti-Romeo Squad has also been deployed to ensure their safety. Besides maintaining law and order, police officers are also offering assistance and services to devotees, creating a supportive environment.

Police Assist Stranded Kanwariyas in Leelapur

An incident in Leelapur highlighted the police’s prompt service when a Kanwariya group’s vehicle suffered a punctured tyre. The Leelapur police team quickly reached the spot, arranged a mechanic, got the vehicle repaired, and even provided refreshments to the devotees before they continued their journey. Shiva devotees appreciated this gesture by the police, praising their dedication and service-oriented approach.
