Technical Glitch in IndiGo Flight: Door Fails to Open After Landing in Raipur, Former CM Bhupesh Baghel Among Stranded Passengers

Raipur – A major technical snag disrupted operations on an IndiGo flight arriving from Delhi to Raipur on Tuesday, when the aircraft’s door failed to open after landing. Passengers, including former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, were reportedly stuck inside the aircraft for nearly 30 minutes on the runway.

Flight Lands, But Exit Door Stays Shut

The flight landed safely at Raipur Airport, but when passengers stood up to deboard, the main exit door wouldn’t open due to a technical malfunction. Despite multiple attempts by the crew, the door remained jammed, causing anxiety and frustration among passengers.

Door Opened with Engineer’s Help

After about half an hour of waiting inside the grounded aircraft, an airport engineer was finally able to open the door, allowing all passengers to disembark safely. No injuries were reported.

Bhupesh Baghel Confirms Incident

Former CM Bhupesh Baghel, who was on board the affected flight, took to social media to share his experience. He wrote, “We arrived from Delhi to Raipur on an IndiGo flight. After landing, due to a technical fault, the aircraft door didn’t open. All passengers remained stuck inside for about 30 minutes.”

IndiGo Yet to Respond

As of now, IndiGo has not released any official statement regarding the malfunction. However, several passengers have raised concerns about the incident, calling it a serious lapse in passenger safety and operational reliability.

This incident adds to growing concerns over the technical reliability of domestic air carriers and highlights the urgent need for more robust safety checks and communication protocols during such malfunctions.
