East Delhi – A massive fire broke out on Saturday at Cosmos Hospital, a private medical facility located in Anand Vihar, East Delhi. One person has been reported dead in the incident.
According to officials from the Delhi Fire Service, the fire erupted on Saturday afternoon, leading to the death of one person and injuring at least 10 others.
The deceased has been identified as Amit, a hospital sanitation worker. Officials said that during the blaze, he locked himself inside a second-floor washroom, where he died of suffocation.
Eight Fire Tenders Brought Blaze Under Control
Authorities said they received the fire alert at 12:12 PM, following which eight fire tenders rushed to the spot. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
Seven of the injured are undergoing treatment at the same hospital, while three others sustained minor injuries. Officials confirmed that the fire has been completely brought under control.
