Rohtak: On the occasion of Haryana Day, which is celebrated every year on November 1, a marathon titled “Run Rohtak Run” will be organized this year at the Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex, Rohtak.
Former MP and ex-president of the Wrestling Federation of India, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, will attend the event as the chief guest and will felicitate the winners with prizes. The event will be chaired by former Haryana minister Manish Grover, while Advocate Amrendra Pal Chauhan, Sarpanch of Ravindragarh Gothda, will be the special guest.
Main organizer Kumar Ravi Chauhan from Ravindragarh Gothda informed that the marathon will begin at 6:30 AM. He stated that the race will be divided into three categories —
- 2.5 km Family Fun Run,
- 5 km category, and
- 11 km category.
Winners in each category will be awarded motorcycles, electric scooters, and several other prizes.
Ravi Chauhan further mentioned that the marathon is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Fit India Hit India’ campaign, encouraging participation from teenagers, youth, athletes, para-athletes, and all fitness enthusiasts. He emphasized that such events not only promote health awareness among people but also contribute to building a drug-free and crime-free society.
