New Delhi: After brief fluctuations in weather, Delhiites are once again facing hot and humid conditions. With strong sunshine pushing up the temperature, the discomfort level is increasing. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), while there may be light showers or drizzle in some parts of the city on Tuesday, the weather will turn dry again from Wednesday to Sunday. During this period, the maximum temperature is expected to rise up to 36°C.
On Monday, the sun was out early in the morning, and the heat intensified as the day progressed. Both humidity and temperature saw an upward trend. The maximum temperature was recorded at 35.6°C, which is 2.1 degrees above normal, while the minimum settled at 23.9°C, 1.7 degrees below normal. Humidity levels ranged between 92% and 53%. Rainfall was negligible, with only 0.1 mm recorded at Rajghat.
The IMD forecast suggests similar weather conditions on Tuesday, with sunshine dominating but occasional cloud cover. Some parts of Delhi may witness light drizzle or rain. The maximum temperature is expected around 35°C, and the minimum may hover near 25°C. However, from Wednesday to Sunday, even though clouds may appear, the chances of rainfall remain slim.
On the other hand, Delhi’s air quality is currently under control. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 82 on Monday, which falls under the ‘satisfactory’ category. No significant changes are expected in the air quality in the coming days.
