Noida, In a move that could transform the agricultural economy of Western Uttar Pradesh, the state government has allocated 50 acres of land near the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar to develop a state-of-the-art agro export hub. This initiative, expected to significantly boost farmers’ incomes, will enable the export of fruits, vegetables, and other agricultural produce directly to global markets.
According to official sources, the government is accelerating plans to set up the export hub under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The facility will include advanced processing and packaging units specifically designed for perishable goods. The export hub will also feature infrastructure for grading, sorting, and packing of produce such as mangoes, guavas, and a wide range of vegetables.
The project has already received critical backing, with the government not only allocating land but also offering multiple incentives to attract private investment. The hub, titled Innova Food Park, will serve as a key logistics and value-addition center for farm products sourced from districts like Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, and other regions of Western Uttar Pradesh.
The Noida International Airport, which is being developed as a dual-use facility catering to both passengers and cargo, is nearing completion—around 80% of the construction is reportedly done. Once operational, the airport will provide direct cargo connectivity to international markets, offering a seamless export route for agricultural and dairy products.
The initiative gained momentum following high-level meetings chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh, with participation from stakeholders including World Bank representatives, Bharat Biotech, Yamuna International Airport Pvt. Ltd., and AISET officials.
Once functional, this agro-export hub could position Western Uttar Pradesh as a leading agri-export corridor, potentially earning farmers revenue in foreign currency and enhancing India’s presence in the global fresh produce market.
This marks a significant step in aligning infrastructure development with agricultural reform—placing the farmer at the center of India’s global trade aspirations.
