Ganga Kings and Gazab Ghaziabad Register Crucial Wins on a High-Intensity Matchday

Noida: Day action in Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL) Season 2 began with two decisive encounters, as Ganga Kings of Mirzapur and Gazab Ghaziabad notched important victories at the Noida Indoor Stadium. With the league entering a crucial phase, both results carried significant implications for the points table.

In the opening match, Ganga Kings of Mirzapur overcame early pressure to defeat Purvanchal Panthers 44–33, registering their second win of the season. Purvanchal Panthers started aggressively and built a seven-point lead, but Ganga tightened their defence to wrest control of the game. A timely all-out shifted momentum, allowing Ganga to take a three-point lead by halftime.

The Panthers attempted a comeback in the second half, but a three-point super raid by Amit Nagar broke their rhythm. Ganga followed it up with another all-out, extending the lead decisively and seeing the contest through in complete control. The victory sparked celebrations, with team president Vedika Trivedi seen rejoicing with the players.

In the day’s second fixture, Gazab Ghaziabad strengthened their top-four position with a 34–29 win over Kanpur Warriors. Ghaziabad produced a dominant phase featuring an all-out, a super raid, and another all-out to surge to a 13-point advantage. The performance came in the absence of captain Uday Dabas, who was rested due to discomfort from the previous match. Stepping up in his stead, Aman Rana led the raiding unit with composure and control.

Kanpur Warriors mounted a spirited fightback in the second half, forcing an all-out and cutting the deficit to five points. However, Gazab Ghaziabad held their nerve in the closing minutes, shoring up their defence to seal the win.

Other matches on the day saw JD Noida Ninjas take on Brij Stars, Awadh Ramdoots face Yamuna Yoddhas, and Lucknow Lions clash with Kashi Kings, further intensifying the battle for standings on the points table.
