Hariom Shukla Shines Under the Guidance of Aman Saxena

Farrukhabad: A proud moment for Farrukhabad district as Hariom Shukla, a resident of Mahaveerganj (Nitganja), delivered an outstanding performance for Gazab Ghaziabad in the Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League. Picked for ₹40,000 during the auction held in Noida, Hariom justified the team’s faith by playing a crucial role in their emphatic victory.

In the UP Kabaddi League match played on 27 December 2025, Gazab Ghaziabad defeated Yamuna Yoddha by a massive margin of 56–28, registering a historic win. Playing as a left corner defender, Hariom Shukla impressed everyone with his solid defense, tactical awareness, and consistency, keeping the opposition under constant pressure throughout the match.

Congratulating Hariom on his success, UP Kabaddi League Founder Sambhav Jain praised his performance. Meanwhile, league co-owner and Russia International player Aman Saxena, a resident of Sikhattar Bhanjan who has represented India at the international level in Russia, stated that hardworking players like Hariom Shukla are the future of kabaddi in Uttar Pradesh.

Hariom Shukla acknowledged that Aman Saxena has played a major role in his career, always supporting and guiding him like an elder brother, both on and off the mat.

After the Noida auction, District Sports Officer Karmveer Singh Yadav and District Kabaddi Association Secretary Kuldeep Yadav congratulated Hariom over the phone. Notably, Hariom’s name was also included in last year’s auction, but this time his dedication and hard work paid off.

Hariom shared that he has been playing kabaddi for the past nine years and is currently preparing for M.P.Ed. from Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur. He credited his success to his father’s friend Sanjay Gupta, his uncle Prince Shukla, secretary Kuldeep Yadav, and coach Dharmendra from Kanpur University, who taught him the finer aspects of the game.

His mother Kanchan Shukla is extremely happy with his achievement. His elder brother Shivam Shukla congratulated him over the phone, while his elder sister Poornima Shukla also expressed pride in his success. The youngest among two brothers and one sister, Hariom continues to balance academics with sports.

Hariom Shukla dreams of playing in the Pro Kabaddi League, and his impressive performances in the UP Kabaddi League suggest that he is steadily moving closer to achieving that goal. Gazab Ghaziabad’s dominant win and Hariom’s contribution have become a matter of pride for the Farrukhabad district.
