Noida | The ninth day of Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL) Season 2 began with a high-octane thriller as Yamuna Yoddhaj defeated JD Noida Ninjas in the season’s second tie-break encounter.
The contest ended 42–42 at the end of regulation time, forcing a tie-break, where Yamuna Yoddhaj held their nerve to clinch an 8–6 victory.
From the opening whistle, both teams went toe-to-toe in an evenly matched battle. Raid followed raid, super raid answered by super raid, and all-out countered with an all-out—neither side could establish a decisive lead at any stage of the match.
Yamuna Yoddhaj raider Ritik Sharma delivered a historic performance, scoring an astonishing 28 raid points, the highest individual tally in UPKL Season 2 so far. His composure and consistency under pressure kept Yamuna firmly in contention throughout the match.
For JD Noida Ninjas, Rachit Yadav put up a spirited fight, amassing 19 raid points with aggressive attacking play that ensured his team remained competitive till the very end.
In the closing moments, Yamuna Yoddhaj gained a crucial three-point advantage through a timely super tackle. However, JD Noida Ninjas showed resilience, leveling the scores and pushing the match into a tie-break—the second such encounter of the season.
Once again, Ritik Sharma rose to the occasion in the tie-break, playing a decisive role as Yamuna Yoddhaj secured an 8–6 win, sealing a memorable victory driven by his record-breaking effort.
In other matches of the day, Awadh Ramdoots faced Aligarh Tigers, Lucknow Lions took on Sangam Challengers, while Gazab Ghaziabad locked horns with Kashi Kings.
