Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva Performed on the Third Monday of Sawan at Jhandewalan Devi Temple

New Delhi: On the auspicious occasion of the third Monday of the holy month of Sawan, devotees performed the sacred Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva with deep devotion at both the ancient cave temple and the newly built Shiva temple within the premises of Jhandewalan Devi Temple. A massive crowd of devotees gathered at the temple from early morning to offer prayers and perform Jalabhishek to Lord Shiva.

Special Rudrabhishek in the Ancient Cave Temple

At the ancient cave temple, only pre-registered devotees were allowed to participate in the Rudrabhishek ceremony. The ritual was conducted with full religious protocol and Vedic rituals. Devotees chanted Vedic mantras and offered water, milk, honey, and other sacred substances from the Panchamrit during the Rudrabhishek. This holy ritual was performed five times, as per the traditional practice followed every Monday during the month of Sawan.

Mass Gathering at the Upper Shiva Temple

In the newly constructed Shiva temple located in the upper section of the temple premises, long queues of devotees were seen from early morning. Thousands of worshippers offered milk, water, Belpatra, and flowers on the Shivling throughout the day. The Jalabhishek continued uninterrupted as a steady stream of devotees poured in for darshan. Given the massive turnout, temple authorities had arranged for extensive security and facilities to ensure a smooth experience for all.

Dedicated Contribution of Sevadars

A team of dedicated Sevadars (volunteers) worked tirelessly to manage the crowd and assist devotees with the rituals. They guided the worshippers on how to perform the offerings, helped maintain order in the queues, and provided information about the required puja materials.

Spiritual Significance of Sawan Mondays

In Hinduism, the month of Sawan and especially its Mondays hold immense religious significance. It is believed that worshipping Lord Shiva on these days fulfills all desires of the devotees and brings peace and prosperity into their lives. This spiritual importance was clearly visible in the atmosphere of devotion and faith that enveloped the temple throughout the day.
