The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh took 15 significant decisions during the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday. These decisions are expected to directly impact the state’s economy, education, employment, and infrastructure.
Outsourcing Services to Get Transparent Framework
The biggest step came in the form of establishing the Uttar Pradesh Outsourcing Service Corporation Limited. Until now, outsourcing arrangements faced complaints about irregular wages and lack of facilities like EPF and ESI for employees. Under the new system, the selection process will be fully handled by the corporation, salaries will be transferred directly to bank accounts, and employees will receive assured monthly pay between ₹16,000–20,000. Additionally, reservations will be provided for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, women, and persons with disabilities. The government claims this will not only create employment opportunities but also introduce a new model of good governance.
E-Bus Project in Lucknow and Kanpur
To modernize urban transport, the government has approved AC electric buses on 10 routes each in Lucknow and Kanpur under the Net Cost Contract (NCC) model. Private operators will handle procurement, operation, and maintenance of buses, while the government will retain the authority to decide fares. According to officials, this model will reduce financial burden on the state while providing better facilities to commuters.
New Export Promotion Policy 2025–30
To make Uttar Pradesh a global export hub, the cabinet approved the new export promotion policy. The policy emphasizes digital technology, financial support, training, and market expansion. The target is to increase the number of registered exporters by 50% by 2030 and link every district of the state with export activities.
Boost to Higher Education
On the education front, the government has announced the establishment of Swami Shukdevanand University in Shahjahanpur. Five existing educational institutes will be upgraded into a university, giving new direction to higher education in the region.
A Multi-Sector Focus
These decisions highlight that the Yogi government is simultaneously focusing on employment, education, transportation, and exports. The bigger question, however, remains: Will these policies be implemented on the ground with the same pace as announced?
