National Desk: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta presented a detailed report of her government’s achievements as it completed one year in office, outlining key development initiatives and welfare schemes for the capital.
During an address on Sunday, she said that over the past 12 months the Delhi government has worked in mission mode, introducing several major initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the poor and working-class citizens. She emphasized that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi is steadily progressing toward becoming a modern and safer city.
Safer Travel for Women
The Chief Minister thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inaugurating two new corridors of the Delhi Metro. She stated that the expansion of the metro network will not only improve connectivity across the city but will also make daily commuting safer and more convenient for working women.
Key Priorities of the Government
Highlighting the government’s priorities, CM Rekha Gupta said that implementing the Ayushman Bharat scheme, making the Yamuna River pollution-free, and eliminating landfill sites (garbage mountains) are among the top agenda items of her administration.
She added that work on these projects is progressing at a rapid pace.
70 Atal Canteens and Benefits Under the ‘Ladli Scheme’
The Chief Minister said that following the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” the government has launched 70 Atal Canteens in Delhi. Through these canteens, nearly 70,000 poor and working-class people receive dignified meals daily at a nominal cost.
She also mentioned that under the ‘Ladli Scheme,’ the government has transferred ₹200 crore of pending funds into the accounts of around 70,000 girls.
She stated that under the initiative “Meri Poonji, Mera Adhikar,” the government ensured that money that had been stuck in accounts for years was directly delivered to the beneficiaries.
New Drainage Master Plan After 50 Years
Addressing the issues of waterlogging and pollution in Delhi, the Chief Minister said the government is taking concrete steps with the support of the central government.
She highlighted a major achievement, announcing that a new drainage master plan for Delhi has been prepared. This plan, developed after nearly 50 years, is expected to play a crucial role in solving the city’s long-standing waterlogging problem.
Steps Toward a Digital Delhi
Emphasizing transparency and the use of technology, the Chief Minister also highlighted initiatives such as the e-file system, digital hospital records, online OPD booking, and the “CM Jan Sunwai App.”
