Noida News: The Noida International Airport (Jewar), set to be one of the most modern airports in the country, is now in the final countdown to its inauguration. On October 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first phase of the project. While most facilities are ready and some are in the final finishing stage, the highlight of this mega project is a 20-acre Ground Transport Center (GTC) – the largest of its kind in India – designed to provide multi-modal connectivity for passengers under one roof.
India’s Biggest GTC on 20 Acres
The GTC has been developed between the two terminals of the Noida Airport, covering nearly 20 acres. It will be completed in three phases, with more than 80% of the first phase already finished. The facility will accommodate over 1,200 vehicles at a time, with fast-charging points for electric vehicles also being installed.
Seamless Transit for Passengers
The GTC has been designed to ensure that buses, taxis, and metro connections are available within walking distance of the terminal. This integration will provide passengers with a smooth and hassle-free travel experience. To enhance convenience, the operator, Yamuna International Airport Limited (YIAPL), has partnered with multiple agencies and transport companies.
Inter-State Bus Services from Day One
From the very first day of operations, inter-state buses from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Haryana Roadways will run directly from the airport to major cities. Passengers will get direct connectivity to Dehradun, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Haldwani, Gurugram, Faridabad, Kurukshetra, Chandigarh, Hisar, Narnaul, Panipat, and Ambala. Additionally, taxi services through partnerships with Uber, Rapido, and Mahindra will also be available.
Built on London–Frankfurt Model
The Noida Airport GTC is being developed on the lines of London Heathrow and Germany’s Frankfurt Airport. It will feature underground stations, commercial spaces, restaurants, lounges, and a concourse area. The entire GTC will take about five years to be fully developed.
10 Key Works Completed – Countdown to Inauguration
All major works related to power, water, roads, and security have been completed. Only the formal aerodrome license remains pending. With the government setting October 30, 2025 as the official launch date, the Noida International Airport’s Ground Transport Center is poised not only to simplify passenger travel but also to redefine India’s aviation infrastructure.
In the future, this GTC will emerge as the largest multi-modal hub in Delhi-NCR, integrating air, rail, and road transport into one unified system.
