Pesticide free Rajasthan is the target, farmers from more than 50 villages got educated

Nagaur : ‘Mere Gaon Ki Mitti’ reached Nagaur from Delhi to make farmers aware of the ill effects of pesticides and to increase their income. ‘Ugao Shuddh, Khilao Shuddh’ awareness campaign has already made 3000 farmers from more than 50 villages aware to minimize the use of pesticides.

On this occasion, Suresh Rathi from MDH family announced to give higher price than the market to those farmers whose produce will be in accordance with international standards. MDH Group will buy IPM quality cumin at 15% higher price than normal and fenugreek leaves at 20% higher price. He said that Group Chairman Rajiv Gulati wishes to have a pesticide test lab in Nagaur, for which an appeal has been made to the Rajasthan government, district administration, and ICAR for cooperation.

Sharad Rathi said that MDH Group’s “Mere Desh Ki Mitti Jagrukta Rath” is making Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of organic India come true. Agricultural scientists are reaching the fields and telling farmers ways to get quality crops without pesticides.

Suresh Manchanda said that Rajasthan has an excellent crop of cumin, red chilli, coriander, fenugreek seeds, fenugreek leaves. If the spice industry and the government together educate the farmers about pesticides, then by 2030 the Indian spice business can be worth 20 billion dollars. On December 5, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Bhagirath Chaudhary launched the ‘Soil of My Village’ awareness campaign in Delhi.
