Special Flights for Festive Season: SpiceJet Announces Additional Services for Diwali and Chhath Travelers

New Delhi: As the festive season of Diwali and Chhath Puja approaches, SpiceJet has brought good news for passengers planning to travel home, especially those from Bihar. The airline has announced special flights to enhance connectivity to Patna and Darbhanga, two of the state’s busiest airports during the festival period.

SpiceJet Expands Festive Connectivity to Bihar

With a sharp increase in travel demand ahead of Diwali and Chhath, SpiceJet has launched special flights from major Indian cities to Bihar. According to the airline’s latest update, new flights have been added from Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad to Patna, while additional services have been introduced from Delhi and Mumbai to Darbhanga.

These new connections are in addition to SpiceJet’s existing network, which already operates flights from Delhi, Mumbai, and Guwahati to Patna, and from Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi to Darbhanga. The move aims to make festive travel smoother and more accessible for thousands of passengers who face challenges in booking tickets due to high demand during this season.

Revised Schedule and Increased Frequency

The airline has also revised its flight schedules to accommodate the festive rush. Travel demand usually peaks during this period, with a massive influx of passengers heading towards Bihar and eastern India for family reunions and traditional celebrations.

By adding these new flights, SpiceJet aims to reduce congestion on popular routes and offer flexible travel options. Passengers can now choose from a greater number of flights at convenient timings, helping them plan their journeys more efficiently.

SpiceJet officials stated that the airline is fully prepared to handle the increased footfall and has ensured that operational arrangements are in place for a smooth festive travel experience.

Special Non-Stop Flights to Ayodhya

In addition to Bihar-bound services, SpiceJet has also launched special non-stop flights to Ayodhya from Delhi, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, and Hyderabad for Diwali. These routes have been introduced in view of the growing number of pilgrims and tourists planning to visit the holy city during the festival season, especially after the grand inauguration of the Ram Temple earlier this year.

The airline expects high occupancy on these Ayodhya routes, given the spiritual significance of Diwali in the city believed to be Lord Ram’s birthplace.

Air India Also Strengthens Its Network

SpiceJet isn’t the only carrier expanding its operations this festive season. Air India has also announced a major network expansion, introducing 174 additional weekly flights starting October 26.

According to Air India, the initiative aims to enhance domestic and international connectivity, particularly between key Indian metros and popular destinations in Southeast Asia. This move will cater to the rising number of Indian travelers flying abroad for holidays during the festival period.

A Boon for Festive Travelers

The announcement from SpiceJet comes as a major relief for passengers from Bihar and neighboring states who often struggle to get tickets around Diwali and Chhath. Every year, demand for flights to Patna and Darbhanga surges sharply, causing fares to skyrocket.

With these additional special flights, travelers now have more choices, better schedules, and improved affordability. The airline’s decision is expected to ease passenger load and make homebound travel during India’s biggest festival season more convenient and accessible.

In short, SpiceJet’s festive initiative is a timely step toward ensuring smoother, more comfortable journeys for millions of Indians heading home to celebrate the spirit of Diwali and Chhath with their loved ones.
