New Delhi: Three books of journalist and author Fazle Ghufran, which have already become popular in Hindi, are now being published in English. Mr. Ghufran is the author of the popular book on Bollywood, ‘Main Hoon Khalnayak’. While discussing MHK, he said that some characters are more important than the hero of the film. The more evil they are, the greater the hero becomes. Whenever they get beaten on screen, the cinema hall echoes with whistles. These are called cinema villains but their importance is no less than that of the hero. People forget these actors with age. Mr. Ghufran has done the work of collecting these forgotten characters in his book. Fazle Ghufran, who has been a journalist in the film industry for more than a decade, has described the ups and downs in the lives and careers of more than 100 villains in this book. The popular dialogues of the villains have also been mentioned in the book.
Fazle Ghufran’s second book ‘Bollywood Biopics’ thoroughly examines biopic films. It is very exciting to read about the kind of biopic films that were made before independence and how the market has changed in the last seventy years with the growing roots of biopic films with heroes, new genres, portrayal of divine characters and inspirational personalities. The author has talked in detail about how biopic films have been seen dominating other genres in the last few years. Author says, ‘Whatever I have seen and felt in the journey of more than a hundred years of Hindi films, has been given a place in this book.
‘Mere Ram Sabke Ram’ is Fazle Ghufran’s third book, whose English version will soon be in the hands of readers. He says that after reading the ideal life of lord Rama, he came to know what it means to be a human being, what it means to be a son, what it means to be a brother, and above all what it means to be a husband!
A person’s life can be so vast that hundreds and thousands of books can be written on it, plays can be written, epics can be composed!
