Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna’s new movie Chhava has broken several box office records on its first day of release. Surpassing all expectations, the movie collected more than ₹30 crore on its first day at the Indian box office, which is Vicky Kaushal’s highest first-day grosser till now. Laxman Utekar-directed Chhava is now the biggest opening movie of the year. Sky Force, which starred Akshay Kumar, held this record earlier, as it earned ₹15.30 crore on day one. But Chhava has beaten it by more than 100%. Given the huge earnings and good word of mouth from critics, the movie is likely to join the ₹100 crore club by the first weekend’s end. The movie has been appreciated by both critics and the makers.
Biggest Opener During Valentine’s Week
Among the movies that have been released in Valentine’s week, Chhava has occupied the number one position. The earlier record was held by Gully Boy, which had made ₹19.40 crore on its first day. Chhava has broken this by a whopping 60%. The movie is based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s son, Sambhaji Maharaj. The movie was surrounded by some controversy prior to its release. But now it appears that people have welcomed this historical drama.
First-Day Box Office Collection in India
As per Sacnilk, Chhava collected ₹31 crore on its opening day at the Indian box office. However, Koimoi informs that the overall first-day collection is likely to be around ₹32-34 crore. The official figures from the producers are yet to be released, but it is sure that the opening day collection will be more than ₹32 crore.
Up to now, Chhava has surpassed other big releases of the year, including Baadshah Ravi Kumar, Deva, Luv Yapa, Fateh, and Sky Force, and has surpassed the expectations of the viewers.
