Lucknow: In a significant religious and cultural initiative, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath flagged off the Somnath Swabhiman Yatra – Uttar Pradesh from Lucknow on Sunday. The journey, launched under the Somnath Swabhiman Parv, witnessed immense enthusiasm among devotees who gathered in large numbers to be part of the spiritually significant event.

The special train carrying pilgrims departed amid the resonating sounds of conch shells and Vedic chants, creating a deeply devotional atmosphere. Devotees from various districts across the state expressed their happiness and gratitude, stating that the initiative has fulfilled a long-cherished dream for many who had been unable to visit the sacred Somnath Temple.

Many participants praised both Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making this pilgrimage accessible to the common people. They emphasized that the government has taken a thoughtful step in recognizing and addressing the religious aspirations of citizens.

Among the devotees, Satish Kumar from Banti Khera in Muzaffarnagar appeared emotional as he shared his experience. He said that visiting Somnath had been his dream for many years, but he never had the opportunity. Thanks to this initiative, his wish has finally come true. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister for understanding the sentiments of ordinary people.

Similarly, Bindu Ishika Singhania from Bareilly described the yatra as more than just a pilgrimage. According to her, it is an effort to strengthen Sanatan culture and promote cultural exchange between states. She added that such initiatives help the younger generation connect with their roots and traditions. She also extended her thanks to both the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister.
