They assert that if one is willing to do something, nothing is impossible—and Mukesh Choudhary of a small village called Dhankya in Jaipur has made this a reality. He has created history in Indian Wushu by winning a gold medal for India at the 10th Sanda World Cup 2025 in Jiangyin, China.
Mukesh is presently working as an Inspector in the Rajasthan Police. With his busy job, he devoted many hours every day to rigorous training, and that brought him to this impressive achievement. Competing in the 75 kg weight class, Mukesh defeated France’s Yoann Benbeddra in the final to take the gold.
Having risen from humble beginnings, Mukesh’s path has been one of strife, toil, and determination. Not only has he brought global acclaim to India, but he has also tested his mettle several times on the national platform. Up to now, he has bagged gold medals in 11 national Wushu championships.
Mukesh revealed that he has won gold in the National Games conducted in Kerala (2015), Gandhinagar (2022), and Goa (2023). His coach, Rajesh Taylor, pointed out that Mukesh’s achievement is a result of years of intense training and single-minded commitment.
His victory in the 2025 Sanda World Cup, where world-class Wushu players from all over the globe participated, is a source of pride not only for Rajasthan but for the country as well. Mukesh has also been awarded the Maharana Pratap Award by the state government for his invaluable contribution to sports. His story is a great source of inspiration for generations to come.
