The Surajkund Mela, a captivating fair of fun, festivity, and art-culture, is starting today with new energy and enthusiasm. This year, 648 participants from 51 countries will be part of the fair. The fair will feature pavilions from Odisha, Madhya Pradesh (the theme states), as well as Goa. The fair will witness even greater participation at both national and international levels than before.
Kala Ramachandran, the Principal Secretary of Haryana Tourism Corporation and Vice Chairperson of the Surajkund Mela Authority, mentioned that through this fair, Haryana will become a powerful platform to showcase its cultural traditions to the world.
The fair will also offer delicious cuisines from Gujarat, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Punjab, and other states, including the theme states Odisha and Madhya Pradesh. This year’s theme state is Odisha.
Notably, cultural performances will be held throughout the day at four locations. The Chaupal-1 and Chaupal-2 stages, which are set up every year, will be joined by two new cultural stages: Maha Stage and Natya Shala. Additionally, QR codes with details like the artisan’s name and stall number will be provided outside the stalls at the fair.
