The Lamborghini that was involved in the Noida accident and hurt two individuals belongs to popular YouTuber Mridul Tiwari, police asserted on Monday.
Mridul has been called by the authorities for questioning about how the vehicle was permitted to be used in the Sunday evening accident.
The driver, Deepak from Jaipur, was arrested after he ran over two pedestrians in Noida’s Sector 94. When he was confronted by people on the street, he inquired if anyone had been killed. In his interrogation, Deepak confessed that he was giving the luxury car a test drive and it was not his.
Deepak is a car broker in the Delhi-NCR area, and the probe indicates he had driven the car for a test drive without rights of ownership.
Police are probing if Mridul, a resident of Noida who has about 19 million subscribers on YouTube, is directly involved in the case.
In the evening on Sunday, people were attracted to the scene by the loud crash, and they confronted Deepak. “Why are you doing stunts here? Do you even know whether anybody died?” asked one local. Deepak, visibly shaken, replied, “Has somebody been killed here?”
After the accident, locals informed the police, who came in a short while and apprehended Deepak. The injured workers were taken to a local hospital, where they were found out of danger.
The Lamborghini has been seized, and a case has been registered against Deepak while the inquiry continues.
