Neha Kakkar Accused of Unprofessionalism After Emotional On-Stage Apology

Neha Kakkar was recently criticized after turning up three hours late for her concert in Melbourne. Angry fans booed and asked her to leave. There was a viral video of her crying on stage and apologizing. Neha later alleged that the organizers had left the venue without paying her, leaving her band hungry, thirsty, and without accommodation. Despite all the setbacks, she claimed they continued to perform for their audience.

In turn, the organizers of the event, Beats Production, have charged Neha with causing them a loss of ₹4.52 crore. They put out an expense statement listing expenditures for her Sydney and Melbourne performances, alleging her “unprofessionalism” resulted in their being banned from performing at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena. They also claimed she broke Australian laws by smoking in the artist room, leading to a ban from Crown Towers in both cities.

In a Facebook Live on March 28, the organizers refuted Neha’s allegations of neglect, saying they had provided for food, water, and accommodations. In defense of their position, they posted a video on Instagram of Neha’s arrival at the airport, greeting the organizers, and being led to her car.

“The accusations are totally false. We owe a lot of money after the show. She ought to be compensating us,” the organizers responded.

Neha, however, insists that she sang for free after the organizers absconded with her payment. She also asserted that her husband had to cater to her band. Concertgoers, in the meantime, accused her of acting dramatic instead of sincerely apologizing.
