Air India Express Pilot Dies of Cardiac Arrest After Delhi Landing

On Wednesday evening, April 9, 2025, an Air India Express pilot tragically passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest shortly after completing a flight from Srinagar to Delhi. The pilot, identified as Armaan, had safely landed the aircraft at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. However, soon after, he reportedly vomited inside the aircraft, indicating a sudden health issue.

After landing, Armaan went to the despatch office of the airline at the airport when he suffered a cardiac arrest. Emergency personnel were summoned at once, and he was taken to a nearby hospital. Attempts to resuscitate him failed, and the doctors pronounced him brought dead.

Air India Express confirmed the accident and conveyed deep regret over the premature loss. The airline spokesperson said, “We deeply regret the loss of a much-valued colleague to a medical condition. Our thoughts are with the family at this time of great grief. We are providing all possible support to them as we all deal with this great loss.”

The airline also called on everyone to respect the privacy of the late pilot’s family and to avoid speculation while they continue working with the authorities involved.

Captain Armaan’s untimely death shocked colleagues and aviation experts alike, bringing to attention the high levels of pressure and responsibility that are faced by flight crew. With the investigation underway, the aviation community is in mourning for a seasoned and renowned pilot.
