Tamil Superstar Ajith Kumar received the coveted Padma Bhushan from the Government of India earlier this year, and he graced the grand investiture ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, on April 28. Dressed in a sleek black suit, Ajith accepted the country’s third-highest civilian award from President Droupadi Murmu. The ceremony was made special with his wife Shalini and their kids being there, cheering loudly—a moment that tugged at social media hearts universally.
After the news, Ajith posted a touching message thanking the audience. He accepted the award as not only an individual feat but a source of affection and motivation from his peers and the film fraternity.
2025 has been a great year for Ajith. In the cinema sector, his films Vidaamuyarchi and Good Bad Ugly were well appreciated by the critics and made a tremendous box office collection, strengthening his long-standing popularity.
Apart from cinema, Ajith’s interest in motorsport also continues to flourish. His racing team, Ajith Kumar Racing, secured third position in the 991 class and the ‘Spirit of the Race’ award in the 24H Series in Abu Dhabi. They also achieved second place in Belgium’s legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, another milestone achieved.
