On the last day of the World Book Fair, the formal launch of Vishnu Sharma’s new book Congress Presidents Files took place. The author-journalist’s book had already been in the spotlight, but the official launch occurred on February 9th, with three distinguished guests on stage: Anuj Dhar, famous for his book Netaji Mission, Prakhar Srivastava, author of Hey Ram (a book that investigates Gandhi’s assassination), and Ashok Srivastava, the author of Modi Vs Khan Market Gang. All three of these books have been widely popular.
The most interesting aspect of the event was that the program was hosted by Neeraj Bathwar, known for his one-liners. Neeraj is also a bestselling author of satirical books like Hum Sab Fake Hai and Baatein Kam Scam Zyada.
On this occasion, Anuj Dhar commented, “Vishnu Sharma brings such interesting stories from the pages of history in his books that will surprise you. For example, in this book, he writes about a Congress president who was not only concerned about Indian call girls but also about Chinese citizens.” Prakhar Srivastava praised him as well, saying, “I learned from this book that the judge who sentenced Savarkar to death was also a Congress president. Vishnu Sharma puts a lot of effort into his facts and takes them from neutral reference texts.”
Ashok Srivastava added, “Today, books like these are bringing to light things for the new generation that were hidden before. And it’s people like Vishnu Sharma, who originally come from a journalism career, who are doing this work.”
On this occasion, the publishers of the book, Prabhat Prakashan, Prabhat Kumar, and Piyush Kumar, mentioned the challenges faced when publishing such books. They said, “We only check whether the facts are referenced from the right place and in the right way, and then we fully support the author.”
Vishnu Sharma is also known for his books like Indira Files, History’s 50 Viral Truths, and Glorious Tales of Unsung Heroes. His books are structured in such a way that any chapter can be read independently, with each chapter telling a different story. He has also written stories about Mahavir Chakra awardees for Nilesh Mishra’s radio show. Additionally, he is a film critic and had a song released by Zee Music for the Ram Temple consecration, composed by Anu Malik, which became widely popular on Reels with over 10,000 creations.
In early 2025, Vishnu Sharma started the year by releasing a new song on January 26, titled Ye Samvidhan Hai to mark the 75th anniversary of the Constitution. This song, composed by Anu Malik, features vocals by Divya Kumar and Anu Malik.
His book Congress Presidents Files is about the Congress presidents before Gandhi, with the tagline “A feast of facts that will change your opinion about Congress.” The book is available online on platforms like Amazon and Flipkart.
