Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been issued yet another threat to his life, sources say. The new threat was sent in the form of a WhatsApp message to the Worli Transport Department in Mumbai. The message threatened to murder Khan within his Mumbai home and also spoke about bombing his vehicle. A case has been lodged against an unknown person at Worli Police Station, and a probe is underway to identify the source and authenticity of the threat.
Khan has received several death threats over the years, most of which are suspected to be from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The gang is believed to have targeted the actor because of his supposed role in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. In April 2024, two men on a motorcycle fired shots outside Khan’s residence, Galaxy Apartment, in Bandra. The suspects were subsequently arrested in Gujarat, with police blaming the attack on the Bishnoi gang.
The gang had earlier demanded that Khan either visit a temple and publicly apologise for the suspected poaching or pay an Rs 5 crore extortion. In another case last year, unidentified individuals sent the actor a Rs 2 crore extortion demand. Gangster Goldy Brar was also associated with a threatening email in 2023.
Khan spoke about these dangers recently in a press conference, stating, “God and Allah are watching over. My life will last as long as it is meant to.” He further disclosed that he now only moves strictly between home and movie sets for security reasons.
