Tejasvi Surya Weds Sivasri Skandaprasad in a Grand Bengaluru Ceremony

Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya wed celebrated Carnatic singer and Bharatanatyam dancer Sivasri Skandaprasad on Thursday in a lavish ceremony at Palace Grounds, Bengaluru. The wedding was attended by a number of top BJP leaders, including Annamalai, Amit Malaviya, and Union Minister V Somanna.

Posting memories from the wedding day, Tejasvi wrote, “With blessings of Gurus, elders, and well-wishers, married Sivasri today according to Vedic traditions. We wish and seek your blessings as we begin this new journey together!”

Sivasri wore a red-maroon Kanjivaram silk saree for one function and a yellow silk saree for another, whereas Tejasvi wore a white-and-gold outfit and a traditional off-white drape.

Sivasri Skandaprasad is best known for her artistic skills in Carnatic music and Bharatanatyam. Her performances received massive popularity during the pandemic, which earned her a large following on social media. Although she is an engineer as well, her artistic abilities have established her as a familiar name in cultural circles.Her performance even found mention with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who one day posted a video of her singing, terming her singing of a Kannada bhajan for Lord Ram as “tremendous.” He had posted, “This rendition of the Kannada bhajan of Prabhu Shri Ram by Sivasri Skandaprasad is wonderful. Such initiatives work wonders in taking our rich heritage forward.

The wedding was the joining of two personalities honored in their own arenas, fusing tradition, culture, and politics into a memorable event.
