Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has overturned the decision made during the Gehlot administration to create 9 new districts and 3 new divisions. The state will now have 41 districts and 7 divisions. The Bhajanlal government has taken this significant step, canceling the formation of the districts Jaipur Rural, Jodhpur Rural, Dudu, Kekri, Shahpura, Neem Ka Thana, Anupgarh, Gangapur City, and Sanchore.
Gehlot administration had created 17 new districts:
The Gehlot government had earlier announced the creation of 17 new districts in the state: Balotra, Didwana, Phalodi, Anupgarh, Jodhpur Rural, Salumber, Sanchore, Shahpura, Neem Ka Thana, Gangapur City, Khairthal-Tijara, Deeg, Kotputli-Behror, Beawar, Kekri, Jaipur Rural, and Dudu. It also announced three new divisions: Sikar, Pali, and Banswara.
8 new districts, including Khairthal and Deeg, will remain intact:
After the decision by the Bhajanlal government, only 8 of the 17 new districts will remain intact: Balotra, Didwana, Phalodi, Salumber, Khairthal-Tijara, Deeg, Kotputli-Behror, and Beawar. As a result, Rajasthan will now have a total of 41 districts. The government stated that the review committee found many of these new districts to be unnecessary, leading to the decision to revoke of them.
